It has been a couple of weeks since KC had surgery. She is feeling better but is still experiencing quite a bit of abdominal pain. By no means am I a comedian, however, when I make her laugh, she ends up being doubled-up in pain and has to tell me to stop. She is a lot less bloated now, and is happy to begin wearing her own clothes. For a while there, the only thing that she felt comfortable wearing was a pair of flannel boxers (which were even too big for me), wool socks with leg-warmers, and her favorite white sweatshirt. It kind of made her look like she was wearing a kilt, so she often times would talk to me with a Scottish accent.
A couple of days ago, we had the post-surgical consultation with her doctor/surgeon. The doctor showed us a sketch of the endometriosis as well as pictures that he took with the camera (through her belly button - which KC has mentioned, will never be the same again. She actually took a picture of it before the surgery as a keepsake). After viewing the sketch and the pictures, I completely understand why the procedure took 4 hours - there was so much of it that he had to take care of. He felt 99% confident that he managed to excise all of it. He also mentioned, that by excising the endometriosis, there would be an extremely low likelihood that it would come back in the excised area. This was good news, because we both had feared that KC might have to do this again every couple of years or so.

Thanks for the update as always. I hope that you were both able to have a great xmas holiday and I wish you both a super happy new year!!! Take care and get better!
Love,
Linda
Hope you're back to your old self (without the pain, of course). Altered belly-button and all!
Glad you got pictures of your surgery. They took pictures of my hip surgery but they "didn't turn out". I blame the IT department of our local teaching hospital ;>

It was pretty weird to see my "inside". pretty gross. I didn't know why I wanted to see those pictures.
I'm getting better and better but still have pain. Doctor said it's normal that I'll be hurting for a little longer (grrr...great). I do miss my "kilt" outfit that Stakit "loves" so much. I may have to put it back on this weekend around the house.
